Dr. Salemi did his graduate work at Southern Illinois University where he was awarded his Ph.D. in 1978. He is a licensed Psychologist in Illlinois and a member of the American Psychological Association.
He was a Psychotherapist for six years and the Executive Director of the Jackson County Mental Health Center in southern Illinois for two years before he became a Management Consultant in 1981.
In 1981, he joined Paul F. Bomrad & Associates, Ltd., a management consulting firm in Chicago, Illinois.
In 1987, Dr. Salemi established his own consulting firm, Innovative Developmental Techniques, Ltd. (I.D.T.) which is based in Chicago, Illinois.
He specializes in conducting management assessments for selection and development for a wide range of business and industries. He also presents a variety of training programs such as:
He is the author and presenter of the 1997 management training video series titled, "In an Instant – Business Solutions to Business Problems." These tapes provide practical and concise tips (each is approximately 10 minutes long) for resolving twenty common issues affecting managers. These tapes are distributed internationally through Jack Wilson and Associates Video. In 2002, these tapes were transferred to CD Rom and made interactive. He has made several appearances on Chicago television programs and has been quoted in Crain’s Chicago Business and The Wall Street Journal.
